    KEEP SCROLLINGTO READ MORE

    Hi! I’m Jon

I’m not very good at focusing on myself. And the thought of a bio that is just about me, and not necessarily my work, is unnerving. But if we’re to become friends, the flow of information has to begin somewhere; that might as well be with me! But you have to promise to go next (thinking positively).

I live in the middle of nowhere. Sounds like the opening line to a book, but it’s true! The village of Swaffham Prior has about 700 people. I love the solitude of remote living because It’s a great place to think and sketch out ideas for new imagery. But I don’t stay in solitude for long! My love, Dee, and our little boy, Jacob, happily fill the quiet with laughter (amongst other various and sundry noises).

I love meeting people, hearing their stories, asking them questions and basically being a good listener. It’s amazing what I’ve learned just by keeping my trap closed. When I travel alone this is a favourite passtime. You should try it sometime!

I have a background in Mechanical Engineering. This strengthened the part of my brain that loves analyses. I guess that’s why I can’t walk through a mall without looking at the window shop art and breaking down their lighting set-ups. If you think that’s a bit odd, let me chase that thought by letting you know I also love to build things with my hands. That makes me more of a man’s man, yes?

Basically, I’m just a regular chap who who enjoys people and enjoys creating. And that’s what I’d like to offer you. Your turn. ;)

  2. What do i do?

    Wedding photography

Today’s modern bride is looking for more personality, more uniqueness and more passion. As it so happens, that’s what I want out of my photography! When paired together with the same vision, you’ll be amazed at what we can accomplish! My hope is to bring a sense of energy and movement that showcases your relationship in a way that highlights your interests as well as your heart.

    Commercial photography

There aren’t a lot of photographers who can say that they truly love corporate work, but I’m one of them. I think it’s because I’ve taken a different approach than many. The face of a business should be as individual and unique as that of a bride. I bring my creative, modern approach into all areas of my work, not just to weddings. When it comes to business head shots, I work in a fun, relaxed way in order to bring out the real personalities of you and your employees. When photographing your products or work site, my goal is to bring a 21st century feel, rather than maintaining the status-quo. Whether through lighting, angles or simplicity, my services are geared to showcase your business in the best way possible.

  3. What else do I love?

    • Dee

      Dee

She's my home. There's nothing like having a supportive partner when you're in an emotionally charged job like once-in-a-lifetime event photography. She's like the beautiful little foamy leaf that baristas put on the tops of coffee. She softens my bite and makes me look good.
    • Jacob

      Jacob

He's my heart. Nothing can make a grown man turn into mush like his child. He's the very remake of Peter Pan: loads of fun and imagination with the ability to be as stubborn as they come. It's the most wondrous thing to watch this boy grow. I couldn't be more proud than to be his Dad.

      Travel

There's nothing quite like boarding an airplane and heading to someplace new. I don't care if it's to a tiny, quiet countryside or a loud, over-crowded city. Getting out and experiencing new places is a huge part of how I'm wired. I've been lucky enough to experience 30+ countries over the years, but there's still no place like home.
    • Coffee Photography

      Coffee

What can I say. I love the stuff. It gives me energy, keeps my mind moving, and meeting others for it is one of the best ways to build friendships. A day without coffee is like... well, I don't really know. And I don't plan to find out.
    • VW Photography

      My 1967 VW Camper

Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it.

      DIY

My home has looks like a wood cutters mill at times. Whenever I get time I'm out there building tables, go-carts for Jacob or bomb proof sheds (look at this one above). Engineering will always be part of me.

Lake Como, Italy Wedding // Diane & Andrew // Pt 2

    23 May, 2013

Lake Como has to be the most stunning location for a destination wedding
If you haven’t seen part one of Diane & Andrew’s Italy wedding, then I recommend jumping over there first. Not wanting to repeat myself, their wedding was a small intimate affair visiting some of Lake Como’s gems throughout the day. It was total perfection.
    Villa Balbianello
Part two starts off with us travelling by speedboat to Villa Balbianello for some portraits of the bridal party.

    Back streets of Lenno
After getting some great portraits at Villa Balbianello we got back into our speedboat (very 007) and headed to the village of Lenno for some more portraits. I love the old streets around here, amazing textures, colours, kids running around, and a bride and groom grinning from ear to ear (and two very excited photographers).

    Lido di Lenno
A perfect was to finish the day, the beach club at Lenno. Cocktails on the lake. Awesome food and some emotional speeches. Diane and Andrew didn’t hesitate to have a few more evening portraits on the lake side.

I’d like to again thanks Diane & Andrew for trusting in me and Katie to capture your wonderful Italian Wedding. Also Katie Merkle, thank you for coming all the way from Baltimore, you’re an amazing talent and it was awesome having you onboard :)
